Thanks to the support of the Mayor of London, Haringey Council and The Wards Corner CBS, Places for London is proud to bring Seven Sisters Market back to the community.
The market closed in 2021 due to the building’s unsafe condition. Since then, we’ve been reconstructing the space to create a fresh, temporary home for the market’s beloved traders.
Since 2014 the market was listed as an Asset of Community Value by Haringey Council, confirming its importance for the local community and as a symbol for the diversity and community in the area.
Construction is almost complete on a new temporary indoor and outdoor market, and we look forward to welcoming visitors this summer with 40 vibrant stalls ready to reopen the market’s doors.

The importance of Seven Sisters Market
Seven Sisters Market provides variety, diversity, history, and character, offering a breadth of products and services that local people need and depend on. The market plays a vital role in London’s Latin American community, supplying a range of specialist products that are difficult to find elsewhere in London. The market also helps bring footfall to the local high streets, significantly benefiting local businesses in Haringey.
