Programme Overview
Focus Areas: Construction, hospitality, retail, and emerging green industries
We are developing our newest programme to address the broader skills challenges faced by businesses across our estate. Recognising that sectors like hospitality and retail offer huge potential for inclusive employment, we are creating tailored upskilling and recruitment support for SMEs. From digital skills training to leadership development, we want to help businesses overcome high turnover and progression barriers while creating structured career pathways for their employees. This collaborative approach will strengthen the entire business ecosystem across our developments.

The Pilot
In 2024 we funded 34 of our tenants through a year-long responsible business skills programme with the Heart of the City. Our tenants attended events, had individual business advice sessions and accessed a range of online learning. Achievements included businesses signing up to pay the London Living Wage and five creating their first ever sustainability strategies. It is part of how we are working with our tenants to drive inclusive growth in London.
