Limmo Peninsula

The Limmo Peninsula, a five-hectare brownfield site in East London, is set to be transformed into a thriving new neighbourhood. This ambitious residential-led development aims to deliver approximately 1,400 new homes, playing a crucial role in addressing London's urgent housing needs. Formerly a vital staging ground for the construction of the Elizabeth line, where tunnelling machines were lowered, the site is now poised for a new chapter of urban regeneration. 

Key Features:

  • Extensive Housing Provision: Around 1,400 new homes will be delivered, encompassing affordable, market, and rental properties. A significant commitment of 40% of these homes will be genuinely affordable, supporting a wide range of Londoners.
  • Enhanced Connectivity: The development will feature a new bridge connecting the Limmo Peninsula directly to Canning Town, significantly improving pedestrian and cycle access.
  • Green Open Spaces: A substantial amount of new publicly accessible green open space will be created, offering residents and the wider community areas for relaxation, recreation, and improved biodiversity.
  • Riverside Walkway: A new river walkway will be constructed, linking Canning Town Underground station to Thameside West, providing scenic routes and promoting active travel along the waterfront.
  • Sustainable Travel Focus: The location encourages active and sustainable living, with close proximity to new cycling routes, including Cycleway 3 and the Thames Path.
