Due for completion by the end of 2025, Barkingside Yard is a testament to innovative design, community-focused living, and a commitment to addressing the housing needs of Redbridge.
Key Features:
- Affordable Housing: 100% of the 98 homes are allocated for social rent, directly addressing London’s housing crisis. The development includes one, two, and three-bedroom houses, with some units fully wheelchair accessible.
- Modern Design: Thoughtfully designed by Sheppard Robson and ECE Architecture, the development features contemporary, energy-efficient homes with spacious layouts.
- Community Spaces: New allotments, communal gardens, and landscaped green spaces enhance local biodiversity and provide residents with areas to grow their own food and connect with nature.
- Car-Free Living: The development is car-free, except for Blue Badge parking, promoting sustainable travel. Ample cycle storage encourages active travel, with new pedestrian crossings and enhanced public cycle parking improving accessibility and safety.
- Improved Infrastructure: Reconfigured station car parking, solar lighting, and other enhancements to the local community infrastructure ensure a safer, more accessible environment for all.
