Our Partnership With

Places for London partnered with Native Land in 2018 to begin planning the redevelopment of the land and buildings around South Kensington station. The partnership focuses on sensitively enhancing the historic transport hub while generating revenue to fund essential transport improvements.

The project will deliver 50 new homes, including 35% on-site affordable housing, along with new workspace and retail. A key infrastructure benefit is completing the delivery of much-needed step-free access to the Circle and District underground lines via a new entrance.

The development includes the complete restoration of the Grade II-listed station arcade, with architectural design by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and heritage specialist Julian Harrap Architects.

This collaboration represents Places for London’s strategy of partnering with experienced developers to unlock the commercial potential of transport infrastructure while improving passenger facilities and delivering housing for London.
